HEALTH EDUCATION
One Good Turn bridges the global gap in healthcare by training and equipping teachers, nurses, and local leaders to deliver health education and respond to the health needs in their communities. We create practical health training resources, like our 300 page illustrated School Health Officer Handbook, targeted to local needs and priorities for community health leaders who may have little to no formal health training.
We believe education is the most scalable tool for preventing illness and improving health literacy around the world. Through initiatives like our SHARE Program (School Health Agency, Resources & Education), we equip teachers with the skills to deliver life-saving health education directly in schools. Yet SHARE is just one part of our vision: a world where high-quality health education is freely shared, elevating personal agency and building healthier, more resilient communities everywhere.

HEALTHCARE INTERVENTIONS
Many of the most urgent health issues in resource-limited communities—such as dehydration, malnutrition, burns, menstrual health, preventable infections, and rising concerns like diabetes, and hypertension —can be addressed with simple, proven solutions. Left unaddressed, these conditions can have devastating effects on families and entire communities. Guided by protocols from the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the CDC, we adapt global best practices into accessible education and practical tools that communities can use to strengthen prevention and improve their everyday health.

PARTNERSHIPS
We partner with local NGOs and government agencies to build on the strengths of existing community development efforts. Our partners provide essential services - from providing menstrual pad for girls to shaping county-level health priorities such as sexual and reproductive health education in response to high rates of adolescent pregnancy. We strengthen these efforts by integrating practical health education into local systems that communities already know and trust.
With our in-country leadership strengthened by these collaborations, One Good Turn is expanding both its reach and long-term sustainability. Soon, we will be formally registered as a local charity in Kenya, deepening our commitment to locally led partnerships.

LONG-TERM SUSTAINIBILITY
With relationships at the heart of our work, we focus on long-term partnerships that build sustainable educational bridges. Our flagship program, SHARE (School Health Agency, Resources & Education), uses a train-the-trainer model in which local teaching teams lead program delivery and provide ongoing support so teachers can bring health knowledge into their classrooms, families, and communities. In this way, practical health education sparks community-wide change, creating a ripple effect that grows with each educational exchange.
Following each project, we establish an open channel of communication that allows us to receive program feedback and respond to health concerns as they arise. To support further learning, we are developing a free, open-source digital resource library of videos and practical guides. This educational resource will remain available after training completion, providing teachers and partners with continuing education resources on a range of health topics, such as how to dress a wound or how to screen for malnutrition using a MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) tape.
To advance localization and deepen our impact, One Good Turn is registering a charitable organization in Kenya, enabling stronger local leadership and new opportunities for in-country partnerships.
